Richard Feifer, MD, MPH, FACP
Dr. Richard Feifer is a seasoned physician executive with an extensive track record of governing healthcare organizations through complex transitions to value-based care. With deep expertise in managing total cost of care for medically complex populations and scaling multidisciplinary clinical operations, Dr. Feifer provides boards with critical oversight of clinical risk, medical cost management, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-level growth strategy.
Dr. Feifer’s governance experience is highlighted by over a decade of formal board service. He currently serves as a Director for the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC), a national leader in healthcare accreditation, where he chairs both the Ethics Committee and the Standards and Accreditation Review Committee. Previously, he served as Board Chair and Director for the Integrated Benefits Institute (IBI), overseeing the strategic and fiduciary operations of the premier research body for workforce health and productivity.
As an operator, Dr. Feifer served as Chief Medical Officer of InnovAge, leading clinical strategy for a national leader in the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)—the healthcare industry’s most comprehensive full-risk model. Previously, he was EVP and CMO of Genesis HealthCare, governing clinical operations for 400+ facilities, and serving as President of Genesis Physician Services and CMO of the Long-Term Care Accountable Care Organization (LTC ACO).
A graduate of Brown University and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, Dr. Feifer currently serves as an Executive in Residence at Avesi Partners, advising private equity firms on healthcare investments and board-level strategy.
